100 Tree Project

In this project my aim is to paint 100 Trees in 100 Days in the lead up to the Bellarine Arts Trail on November 1st + 2nd where I’ll be showcasing the trees at the Barwon Heads Arts Hub along with a bunch of other amazing creative humans who will be showcasing their own amazing work.

Not only am I creating 100 Trees for this project, I am also painting 1 Giveaway Tree Each week where I paint a tree based off of an image sent in by one of you, then send the finished piece right back to you! If you’d like to join in the fun make sure to send me a DM of your favourite Tree or email them to me at info@niceverist.com

The other crazy part of this project (other than the fact I’m attempting this while being on MAT leave with my second daughter and trying to keep up with my toddler!) is that I’m showing up LIVE on Instagram each Wednesday night at 8:00pm to paint the next week of trees, I’ve been SO enjoying these LIVE Studio Sessions, and honestly without the people who have been showing up, engaging and asking questions, I’m not sure if this project would have lasted, I’m forever grateful to these amazing humans for keeping me accountable to this project when there has been many Wednesdays when this sleep deprived Mumma would have preferred to sit on the couch watching Netflix eating chocolate…

The full catalogue of Trees so far is in the gallery below

(more Trees below!)

This project started in a moment when I was missing my creative practice deeply, while being on MAT leave with my second daughter I was struggling to get into the studio. I decided to dedicate Wednesday nights at 8PM as a non-negotiable time to spend in the studio and had the crazy idea of inviting all of you to be my accountability buddies by going LIVE on Instagram Each Week.

That spark grew into the 100 Trees Project.

As the 100 Tree Project unfolded, I started to realise this project was about more than just my creativity. Growing up, I spent many weekends planting trees with my dad on our family farm, working to regenerate nature corridors for wildlife and revitalise our soil to work towards more sustainable farming methods.

Through this project, I’ve learned more about where my deep love of trees has come from and this led me to learn more about Australia’s deforestation rates, and discovered inspiring organisations dedicated to re-planting and regeneration. It all came full circle.

That’s why I’ve committed to planting one tree for every artwork I sell.

And I’m so excited to invite you into the next chapter: Tree Club.

Stay tuned for details soon.

And don’t forget if you sign up to the 100 Tree Mailing List you’ll receive exclusive early access to the 100 Trees on October 29 at 6PM.

Thank you for being part of this journey,
