ALL PROCEEDS FROM THIS PIECE ARE TO BE DONATED FOR THE LONGWOOD BUSHFIRES VIC 2026
There are moments in life when it feels as though the ground disappears beneath us, when everything we know shifts and the world feels irrevocably changed. And yet, over time, with care and healing, hope begins to return.
I think about how trees endure fire - how they remain alive through it - and how, not long after, new growth appears. Slowly, patiently, they begin rebuilding the ecosystem that sustains them and the life around them. That process feels deeply symbolic of our own capacity to recover and start over.
What Grows Next is a piece I created as a way to contribute when I felt too far away to offer hands-on help when the Victorian Bushfires where terrorising large parts of the state.
This work will be auctioned later in the year, with all proceeds going directly to communities impacted by the Longwood fires in Northeast Victoria.
It’s a reminder to myself that while I can’t change what has happened, and I may not be able to make a large impact alone, I can still do my part - however small. And together, those small acts create real change.
