To Begin Again

Inspired by the quiet resilience of the Australian landscape after bushfire, this tree reflects the powerful cycle of destruction and renewal that shapes so much of our natural environment.

When fire moves through the land it can leave devastation in its wake, yet nature holds an extraordinary capacity to recover.

Beneath the ash and scorched earth, life persists.

In time, small green shoots begin to appear, trees push out fresh growth, and the slow process of rebuilding begins.

This painting is a reflection on that moment of renewal - and for me, responds to a period in my life after a serious car accident where I was lucky to walk away, but left me as a completely changed person who had lost my sense of safety and confidence.

It took many months of slow healing to rebuild and regrow parts of myself that were lost. This piece is a quiet but powerful reminder that even after the hardest seasons, life finds a way to begin again.

Plus the 6 mini paintings that inspired this piece will also be available through this collection.
